Bishopric

My husband recently got called as the 2nd counselor in our church bishopric. I know what you're thinking, "Now?! While you're dealing with all this?!"
Yes.
But we don't see it as a curse or a bad thing, rather a huge blessing our family needs right now. The best way to get out of your own way and over self pity is to serve others. So my husband may be gone a lot more than usual, but we will manage and adapt. I feel good knowing that he is helping others more than I am able to right now.

Anyway, last week Jeremy conducted Sacrament meeting for the first time. Apparently the kids thought he was too boring and had a few ideas of how to lighten things up and add more entertainment value!

Natalie suggested that he bring a guitar (which he doesn't know how to play) and sing a song like this, "Brother Smith got a calling, la da da da da, if you like it raise your hand!"

Kai and Nicole agreed that he should dance too.

I told him he could throw in a, "Can I get an Amen?!"

We were all laughing silly! But then Kai said when we got home from church the phone would ring and the bishop would say, "You're fired!!"

Then the kids proceeded to shout over and over "you're fired!"

Even Jamal joined in, which was amazing, not only because it was the first time trying to say those words, but it was the first time he tried to put two words together! Yippee! Progress, at the expense of Jeremy's pride.

What do you all think, should he "lighten" things up, up on the pulpit? haha
