Someone says AKA Simon says.
We
like to play a lot of games here at our house and one night Kai had the idea to
play Simon says. It had been a long time so we all agreed. We went through a
few typical rounds: pat your tummy, stand on one leg, stick out your tongue,
etc. Kai and Natalie both took turns and were very sneaky getting us all out.
We
were about to end when Nicole surprised us by asking for a turn to be Simon. She’s
never really wanted to be Simon because she hasn’t understood the game well
enough to be in charge and would say no if asked. She started off well, saying
things her brother and sister had said, then things got silly…
Instead
of “Simon says” she started saying, “Someone says.” She never stopped saying it
though, so we had to do everything she asked. Kai and Natalie laughed so hard
every time! Jeremy and I tried to remind her that once in a while she had to
just tell us to do something, without saying Simon Says, to get someone out.
She didn’t listen. She was having too much fun being in charge and watching us
all do what she commanded.
On and
on it went, and each time we giggled harder.
“She’s
saying someone says, not Simon says, “laughed Natalie.”
“Someone
says … do sit-ups!” Nicole ordered
“This
is the weirdest game of Simon Says I’ve ever played!” Jeremy could barely get
the words out.
“Mom,
you’re not even doing yours!” shouted Kai.
“I’m
trying! I can’t. I’m laughing too hard.”
“Someone
says...Roll around on the floor!”
“Well
Ok, That’s strange.” Said Kai
We
were all squirming around laughing hysterically. We didn’t know it could get any
funnier.
“Someone
says…Cry!”
“Cry?!”
Natalie was puzzled. “Ok….Whaaaaa!” she screamed
We
all joined in pretending to cry, laughing so hard that real tears were coming
out.
Nicole
was so proud of her self! Silly girl.
I
guess we need to play that game again soon. Some real belly- bouncing laughter
would do us all good.
