Fast Food

We all know it's not healthy, but sometimes it's all I can manage for dinner. I guess I also include places like Cafe Rio in this realm, cause let's face it, if you go sit down in any restaurant it isn't all that healthy either. I know there are people out there, healthy extremists that would not be caught dead eating fast food and condemn those who do. I'm not ashamed. We have gotten much better in recent years at eating healthy and not eating out as often. Home-cooked, nutritious meals are of course the best, but everyone appreciates a night off in the kitchen or a date night.

Here's some random thoughts on a few fast food restaurants: I'm ok with Arby's, but every time I step inside one (which has probably only been about 3 times) I feel like I've gone back in time about 20 years. For some reason they are all designed with drab colors and a certain lack of...something. I can't quite put my finger on it. Wendy's is similar, but with brighter colors. I've never seen more than about 4 other customers in one at a time. If you want fast food with the benefit of a quiet atmosphere to talk, either of these are good options. If you want peace and quite do not go to McDonalds or Carl's Jr. The only time I visit these places is when I want to release the children into the (sometimes) pee-smelling labyrinth so I can chat with a friend for 10 minutes during the long, dark, toxic air, never-ending inversions that define a Utah winter.

One of my favorite comedians, Jim Gaffigan, enlightens us on McDonalds

What are your thoughts? How often do you actually go sit down in a fast food restaurant and what do you think about the look of the inside? You can answer if you're not afraid to admit that like the 90 something percent of the population, you actually eat this stuff.
