Natalie's Getting Baptized

The official un-vailing of Natalie's Baptism Dress, handmade by yours truly! Really I owe all the success to my mother, who washed, ironed, cut out all the fabric, and then went over each pattern instruction until I understood all of it. Thank you mom!! For not having sewn in about 6 years I was relieved it turned out so well. Phew! Then as if that wasn't enough work, I promised I would make one for her doll too.

Natalie is so excited for her baptism and loves the dress, but possibly loves her doll's a little more because it's miniature. I can't believe she is 8 already! And it's killing me how much she looks like me at this age in these pictures with her hair all curled.

Silly girl!

She really wanted to be done. From this point on I had a hard time getting a face without pouting or tongue sticking out. Quite the jokester that one is. I'll pull out this picture when she whines about how long it takes to do bridals someday!

I told her to close her eyes, so she was trying to make her doll do it too. Stinker. Then she continued to have her "wink" at me. 

Afterwards I promised the kids that if they were good they could photobomb each other. I also bribed with candy. Overall it was a great success!

Natalie's Butterfly Party

This was Natalie's reward party. She wanted a butterfly theme, so we spent that morning cutting out paper butterflies. We invited everyone over in dress up clothes and had snacks and cake. Then we played Elefun and had a dance party! Natalie also wanted to put makeup on so we did that and had a fashion show with a photshoot. Lastly, the girls got to play mom and dad and went home with a balloon.

It was a fun party and I had so many cute pictures it was hard to narrow them down. Parents, if you want these, just send me an e-mail!

My Girls, on Film

This is the first roll of 35mm I have taken in about 8 years! I used color film at ISO 400 or 800 (I can't remember). I don't get all the technical data written down for me like I do shooting digital. You can tell they are grainy, but it is real grain, not digitally added grain or yucky noise. There is a certain softness to film that I love, and you can't reproduce that any other way, other than to shoot with film.

I will be incorporating more film into my work with client sessions. I want to remaster this basic medium that started my love affair with photography!

Wallace and Grommit

These two are such knuckleheads! They have such a special bond even though they are 3 years apart.  Most days they are best friends, they do everything together, and are so cute and kind to each other,  but the have their moments. Some days I have to keep them separated all day because if they get within 5 ft of each other they will start to fight. Can you tell what day this was?!

Utah photographer- Natalie's Turn In The Studio

I had a sessions cancelled today because someone in their family has the swine flu. So I decided to do Natalie's today instead! Next on my list: Kai.

I was going to take the time to straighten and do her hair, but this is who she is and how I see her everyday, and to me, that's more beautiful! : )

She looks so much like I did as a child in this next one!
